Written Interview
Service Provider Details
Why did you choose the service/institution you chose?
There is a long-standing and trusting cooperation and professional exchange between the State Office for Agriculture, Fisheries Department in Königswartha and the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice
Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters with regard to carp pond management. The respective employees regularly engage in professional exchange, both in matters of vocational training and applied research.
How did this access experience support your research?
Participation in the program enabled project-specific collaboration with local colleagues and expanded mutual exchange regarding feeding practices and environmental interaction effects. The practical implementation of the feeding experiment in Königswartha also sets a new standard for the participating pond workers in terms of the implementation of scientific projects, data analysis, and statistical evaluation.
How does your project benefit society, industry, or policy?
In Saxony, these experiences and results are of paramount importance, particularly with regard to the pond support program and nature conservation issues, and the research results are a relevant building block for policy advice in a broader context.
How did this experience mark your scientific career?
Another step in my career in applied research on carp and sustainable pond farming. My third project with direct international links and cooperation. The results and experiences can be integrated with other methodological building blocks in the long term.
