Make your data and publication FAIR and Open Access

Data and publications produced within the AQUASERV Transnational Access and Virtual Access programme required to be FAIR and Open Access. As an AQUASERV user, you are required to:

  1. Submit a Data Management Plan (DMP)
The Data Management Plan (DMP) explains what sort of data is being collected/created in your project and how it will be made FAIR.

  2. Store your data
Data generated during your research should be archived in a database where their long-term survival is guaranteed. These data also need to be linked to a record in a metadata catalogue, so that others can find, download and (eventually) re-use them.

  3. Make your publication Open Access
Publications resulting from the Transnational Access programme must be Open Access. To make your publication Open Access, you can:
    • publish in an Open Access Journal ("Gold" publishing)
    • publish in a journal that allows a PDF of the accepted article to be archived in an Open Repository ("Green" publishing).
    • As soon as you publish an article from a research funded by AQUASERV, send an email to aquaserv@ualg.pt including the title, DOI and PDF of the publication.

  4. Acknowledge AQUASERV
Outcomes resulting from work carried out with AQUASERV support should be acknowledged as follows:
“Funded by the European Commission under grant agreement No 101131121, AQUASERV project”.
